About the Author

Hey, thanks for dropping by.

My name is David, and I’m the typical guy that was in great shape for most of my life, but then, life got in the way, and I found myself in bad shape.  Actually, it’s happened a couple of times.  Now, at age 39, I’m starting this blog to help me be accountable, and share what I experience in my journey to get in the best shape of my life.

I’ve always been a fan of fitness and health, going way back to my pee-wee soccer days.  I was an athlete in High School.  I played water polo, soccer, and swam competitively.  I also rode my bike a lot.   I prided myself on my aerobic fitness.

After High School, I started weight lifting, and also competing in “Olympic Distance” triathlons.  An Olympic Distance triathlon is usually a 1 Mile swim, 40K (28m) bike ride, and 10k (6.2m) run.  I did pretty good, considering that I was not one of “typical” triathlete physique.  I mean, I’m a “big” guy.  I’ve always been considered “husky”, and even when I was doing triathlon training and competitions, I still weighed 207 Lbs.

When I was 21, I decided that I wanted a change, and I enlisted in the US Navy.  During bootcamp, I leaned out to 186 lbs.  If I remember correctly, at that weight, my waist was about a 32, and physically, I was in pretty good shape.  In the last PT test, I ran a mile in 6:15, and did 100 push-ups.

The reason I’m sharing all this stuff from the distant past, is well; because I hang on to these memories as potential achievements I can get back.

It seems that the times that I’ve fallen out of shape were when I had injuries, and things went downhill for a while until I reached a threshold and decided to change things to get back in shape.

On this website, I’ll share with you, the best ways to get in shape that I have found.  I’m sure you’ll like some, and I’m sure you’ll think some are downright demonic.  But they’re effective!

Keep Hittin’ it Hard!
